Jeremiah Hawkings moved to Apple Tree Farm, Worle circa 1860 with his third wife Lucy.

This was a smallholding on the outskirts of Weston-super-Mare that was a few generations later to become the home of Edgar Hawkings and his wife Dorothy. At the time when Jeremiah lived there the homestead was a thatched house dating from sometime around the seventeenth century, this building was to survive until the nineteen fifties when it was demolished to make way for a new farmhouse.

Edgar Hawkings later farmed at Apple Tree Farm from 1931.

Edgar (1896-1968) and Dolly Hawkings

Born Mar 5th 1896, Married Aug 27th 1924 – Dorothy Blanche Plaister, Died Feb 3rd 1968. They had one son – Denis, born 1927 at Apple Tree Farm, who wrote the books about the Hawkings family.
