Born in Wales, but the family had moved to Chipstable by the 1901 census.
” Aunty Elsie. She never married and lived in Barnstaple. Her life was devoted to the blind and when I was in Barnstaple from Shebbear she was so kind to me. When she died in about 1949/50, because of her dedication to the blind , a blind home in Instow was named after her ” The Andrew memorial home.”.
