1881 census. At Eastertown Farm, Lympsham. With Maria age 63, Martha 28, Albert 24, Minnie 22, Thomas 19, Susan 25 and Ethel granddaughter age 3. (on a visit !)
In a letter to Jesse Hawkings from his brother Edgar in 1896 – Am sorry to hear that John Champions family have to go to the workhouse. It is a disgrace to the English land system that a hardworking farmer should be ruined as he was.
